The story of how bags were born is curious: rumor has it, that the number one accessory for the female universe was actually invented by a man!
It is said that to devise the system of crumpling animal skins with the purpose of carrying weapons and tools were actually primitive men: when later on the first currencies were introduced and distributed the functionality and following usage of bags started to expand. However, many first bag models that are preserved today date back to medieval times: the "Zona", a bag that was fixed to the belt, the "crumena", which was similar to our shoulder bag, and the "manticula" to carry by hand, forerunner of the clutch bag.
During the Renaissance, bags began to be considered fashionable accessories, and the materials used to make and decorate them gradually became more and more prestigious: leather, velvet, brocade, satins, bows, ribbons, gold and precious stones, were inevitable for this luxury item, intended for ladies of the high society.
Between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with the birth of the bourgeoisie, the female gender begins to be more and more independent, and that's when the stock market,
with the growth of women's businesses, introduces bags as an indispensable accessory
even in everyday life.
